I’m gonna say something real controversial here: I love the TV show LOST. Don’t get me started on the ending. Its depth of character and its twisty plot, that everything doesn’t tie up in a tidy bow....like how could I not? One beautiful refrain of the story is the “Man of faith, Man of science”. Those who buy into the mystery and those who look for something logical instead. And of course, in its own way, Unfixed has some similarities in its unlikely duo.... Today on my blog, get a sneak peek into these characters and the mysteries they encounter....

Things will go wrong
Things will go wrong. We can't say what things, but we can most assuredly say some. You probably know what that's like. In this post I share what's been going wrong with the booklaunch plans lately, and what keeps me moving forward anyway....
Meet Max: investigator of the vanishing circus
Max snuck up on me. I started writing a story about impulsive, naïve Julia running away to the circus. And as I’m writing about the troupe's plan “For freedom,” I got interrupted by this guy investigating a circus that disappeared, and I had no idea why he was there, let alone anything about a disappearing circus.
Holes: A masterclass in multiple storylines
I love how stories weave together. I love the little intricacies, so tales with multiple storylines absolutely pull me in. Some fall flat, but some are absolute magic. And so far, none have compared to one: Holes....

Event planning for authors
What in the world makes ME think I'm qualified to speak on this topic? What, I planned one booklaunch and a wedding reception(s) and suddenly I'm some event planning guru? Ha. No. But, as an introvert that can't stand crowds and loved both of these events I put together, I thought I'd share for funsies & solidarity....

...she'll stretch her creative muscles in a new way 🙂 I put a pause on writing to plan a bigger celebration than my booklaunch party. I got to use my creativity in writing & designing the invites, decor, floor plan, music, and so much more for my wedding celebration. It was fun to get together… Continue reading If you give an author a wedding…
Eat the frog or take a walk
Here we are, post-covid and burnt out and just needing the motivation to do _something_ with our dreams. There's the concept of "eating the frog" you may have heard of before, but there's also the option to take a walk in the park. Which is working for you right now? You can read more details in this blogpost...
4 pandemic reads from author friends
During the pandemic, some people hunkered down to ride out the storm and just tried to get by. (To be clear, I am "some people" here.) Others found opportunity - or made opportunity - amidst it. *intercom voice* These are those people, and these are - literally - their stories. If you've been waiting around for my new book, or if you've been devouring every story in sight the past 2 years and need something fresh, have I got a post for you.....
