Musings

Fairytales, Dystopians, and Paranormals

No, I did not write a single word – apart from an occasional facebook status – on vacation (long story short, my entire life changed its trajectory and I convinced myself to make the most of vacation and actually relax.) But no worries! There are great plans for the month of November and on.

Beautiful Colorado view from my vacation.

I’m sure I’ll blog about my opinion of NaNoWriMo in the next couple weeks. So you can look for that post. But regardless of those thoughts, I need a jumpstart to get back into regular writing on my Work-In-Progress. So I will be UNOFFICIALLY doing National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) this year. You can see my elevator pitch of the story I’ll be writing here.

In addition to that, me and my friend Doble have an abandoned collaborative writing project we are returning to now. It’s a fairytale sparked by an ancient prophecy, a quest for the Book of Spells written by the muses, and all the characters’ clashing motives, including the Pied Piper, Cowardly Lion, Dread Pirate Roberts, Raven, Belle, Thetis, Mnemosyne, and Lord Byron.

I’ve got plans for my blog too of course. Besides updates on the above writing projects, there will be a book review of an apocalyptic dystopian YA novel, a book review of a Christian vampire novel, the reason I hate free ebooks, and my love-hate relationship with used bookstores (also known as, Why Barnes and Noble Isn’t That Bad.)

  1. All of your writing plans sound so interesting! Can’t wait to hear more 🙂 Glad you got to relax and that you’re unofficially doing NaNoWriMo! I was going to try my hand at it to, I forgot about yesterday, but we’ll see where today takes me 🙂
